On April 5 2007, the number of registered users on Client Gate, the Hungarian government portal, reached 500 000. Client Gate, which uses a 'single gate' solution to identify those wishing to access public administration eServices, was set up on April 1 2005. Since then, the number of registered users has grown steadily. Apart from tax and social insurance declarations, college and university applications are the most frequently used services. It will even be possible to pay official bills via Client Gate by early next year, if all goes according to plan.
