The European Research and Development Project USE-ME.GOV is launching four pilots in late 2005 to validate mobile communication services. The USE-ME.GOV (Usability-driven open platform for mobile government) project is designed to support and encourage the access to new E-Government services at any time and anywhere through the use of mobile communications, Internet technologies, and open source software. Based on cooperation between public administrations, ICT companies, and universities, the project will launch three pilot services in the coming months aimed at testing the delivery of healthcare, school, and local council information to users via mobile phone. A fourth pilot service allowing citizens to send complaints by text message will also be launched before the end of the year.
