The Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) was established in March 2000, as an Organization devoted to the promotion and execution of Transport research in Greece. It forms part of the National Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). It acts as a "private status" legal entity under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Development. The scope of services covers all areas of Transport and in particular the organization, operation, planning and development of infrastructure, standardization, economic analysis, management, vehicle technology and impact assessment of land, maritime, air, and multi-modal transport services.
