At its historic 10th Meeting, the ICAO Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) recorded significant progress in a number of critical areas, including recommendations for a global aircraft CO_2 design standard and for an aircraft engine non-volatile particulate matter (nvPM) standard. It was the first time in its history that the CAEP recommended two standards in one meeting, paving the way for cleaner aircraft that have less impact on the environment.
