PEPCO HOLDINGS, INC. (PHI) ISr one of the largest energy delivery companiesr in the Mid-Atlantic region of ther United States, serving about 1.9 millionr customers in Delaware, the District ofr Columbia, Maryland, and New Jersey.r PHI’s subsidiaries Pepco, Delmarvar Power, and Atlantic City Electric (ACE)r provide regulated electricity service tor these areas. The ACE service territory hasr a number of renewable distributed energyr resources (DER) installations, includingr landfi ll gas (methane), wind, and solar. Inr particular, solar installations in the formr of photovoltaic (PV) systems have beenr increasing due to substantial fi nancialr incentives in New Jersey, while Maryland,r Delaware, and Washington, D.C. arer also seeing activity due to incentives. Inr New Jersey, large systems are interconnectedr into the distribution system (12r kV) because the state has required all systemsr to connect to the distribution systemr if the system owners wish to earn solarr renewable energy certifi cates (SRECs).r Applications for installations in the PHIr distribution system range from 1 kW upr to 100 MW.
