This paper provides a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art research on stochastic simulations. It stimulates the interest of tackling the problem of stochastic simulation using statistical signal processing methods, as well as innovative thinking of stochastic modeling of gene networks from the viewpoint of signal processing
