This paper describes the design and laboratory testing of a novel generation apparatus for supplying an isolated dc load from a self-excited induction gen- erator operable at variable speed. The variable-speed generating apparatus con- Sists of a self-excited induction machine, a controlled Graetz bridge rectifier, a voltage-boost converter, and A control system. The voltage-boost converter interfaces The variable output voltage of the rectifier to the fixed Dc voltage required for the load.
