摘要

Variable field generation (VFG) is a newly developed inverse problem algorithm for synthesizing magnetostatic system designs. Unique to this method, the system model would be physically implemented to provide alterable magnetic field production. Within this algorithm, optimization or regularization methods must be employed to determine a useful design solution. This paper presents the process created to apply these solvers in multiple stages and the application of nesting quick linear regularization methods within more robust nonlinear optimization routines. The results of employing this process to the design of a proposed magneto-plasma-aerodynamic (MPAD) device are discussed.
