摘要

It is shown how the method of fundamental solutions can be applied to eddy-current problems. The essential concept is to represent the solution of the governing partial differential equation by a combination of linearly independent fundamental solutions. The singularities of the fundamental solutions are located outside the solution region. The main advantage of the method is the ease with which it can solve geometries having an arbitrary boundary in three dimensions. The formulation is valid for the eddy currents in conducting magnetic cylinders with a net impressed current in the vicinity of an external source. The problem of multiple conducting cylinders with circular cross-section is considered as an example, and results are compared with previously published work.
