摘要

A finite size periodic 2-2 composite transducer has been studiednusing finite element method, and the numerical results are verified bynexperiments. The focus of this study is on the mode coupling between thenthickness resonance and pitch resonance. Such coupling effectivelynlimits the pitch size of the composites preventing them being used innhigh frequencies. The effects of randomness is also being investigatednusing finite element analysis. The pitch resonance can be effectivelynsuppressed by introducing 50 to 80% randomness in the structure.nNumerical results also show that the decoupling of the thicknessnresonance and pitch resonance can increase the electromechanicalncoupling coefficient kt for the thickness mode and shifts thenthickness resonance frequency
