摘要

In this paper, a new approach to the design of nonlinear microwavenoscillators is presented which allows optimum large-signal performancento be predicted. The procedure consists in determining in the powernspace a closed volume including all the allowed powers at terminal portsnof the nonlinear device. The boundary of this volume, called then“characteristic surface”, permits one to deduce the optimumnpowers and then the corresponding loads. The technique has been appliednto oscillator circuits. Comparisons of Tunnel diode and Field EffectnTransistor computed values with previously published results from thentechnical literature, as well as the agreement with experimentalnresults, serve to validate the method
