摘要

Limited-diffraction beams have a large depth of field and could benapplied to medical imaging, tissue characterization, and nondestructivenevaluation of materials. This paper reports the application ofnlimited-diffraction beams, specifically, the Bessel beam, to Dopplernvelocity estimation. The Bessel beam has the advantage that velocitynestimation is less subject to the depth of moving objects and thenDoppler spectrum has distinct shoulders that increase the accuracy ofnvelocity (both magnitude and Doppler angle) estimation in noisynenvironments. The shoulders of the Doppler spectrum might also help innsolving the inverse problem, e.g., estimation of the velocityndistribution in vessels
