摘要

Global energy markets have entered a painful period of transition and transformation. There are several processes ongoing in parallel:4(th) energy transition (from fossil fuels to low-carbon energy sources), shifting supply and demand centers, growing international competition on the supply side. At the same time, we are still missing any common "rules of the game" in the international energy trade: Energy Charter did not manage to become a universal agreement, all regional markets are actually developing in different paradigms, different market distortions (like sanctions and trade wars and other restrictions) are only getting stronger. Meanwhile huge investments will be required in the next decades just to sustain energy production, not even mentioning its growth.
