摘要

This paper presents a new system for detecting electromagnetic waves emitted from a partial discharge (PD) due to a material defect in a high-voltage electric machinery and apparatus. PD is a symptom and/or a direct cause of the deterioration of the insulation used in the high-voltage stator coil. This system can detect PD by using the spatial phase information of the microwave emitted from PD which is very short duration voltage pulse.
