The landing after an instrument approach can be utterly uneventful, or bend metal and, sometimes, claim lives. The pitfalls of the transition from instruments to pavement are rarely given more than a passing mention in training. Some items involve pure physics and math; some are just the urge for that ven-ti mocha frappachino from Starbucks after hours in the soup. Either way, ignore this thinking at your peril.
