Back around January, I put down my money and upgraded my CNX 80 with new software so that it is now a fully-functional Garmin GNS 480 running the latest Garmin software. In addition to several improvements I mentioned in "Flying the GNS 480" in April IFR, the new software makes WAAS-enabled approaches a reality. These new WAAS approaches are technically named Gamma 2 and Gamma 3 approaches and are the equivalent of non-precision and precision approaches, respectively.
