Four years ago, when the Mississippi Department of Transportation's in-plant added an Agfa Accuset 800 imagesetter, the shop felt that computer-to-plate technology wasn't quite perfected yet. Much has changed since then, says Bill Hudson, director of Printing Operations. The 10-employee operation just installed a HighWater Python CTP system in its Jackson, Miss, facility. This, combined with new cutting and shrink-wrapping equipment and a major state award has left Hudson feeling pretty good about his in-plant.
