摘要

The effects of fibre fineness, fabric weight and scrim on the filtration and mechanical properties of nonwoven needle-punched polyester filter fabrics have been studied. It is observed that the fine fibre fabrics exhibit higher filtration efficiency but at the cost of air drag, whereas coarser fibre fa- brics show higher filtration efficiency for a given pressure drop level. Fabrics made from 3.3 dtex fi- bre give improved mechanical performance in terms of tenacity, abrasion resistance and bursting strength. As expected, with the increase in fabric weight, increased filtration efficiency with reduced air flow has been observed.
