摘要

The effect of opening roller and rotor speeds on fibre disorder at rotor groove has been studied. The fibre disorder has been characterized in terms of proportion of curved fibre ends, coefficient of relative fibre parallelization and projected mean length. It is observed that the fibre orientation at rotor groove is inferior to that in the feed sliver. The proportion of curved fibre ends increases with the increase in opening roller and rotor speeds, whereas the coefficient of relative fibre parallelization and projected mean length decrease with the increase in opening roller and rotor speeds. A good correlation between fibre disorder at rotor groove and mechanical properties of yarn has also been observed.
