Sound velocity (u), excess sound velocity (u~E), and excess specific acoustic impedance (z~E) have been evaluated in the binary liquid mixtures: acetonitrile+benzene, benzene + dimethylformazmide and acetonitrile+dimethylformamide at 298.15 K. The results are compared with the studies of S Murakami and co-workers. The present studies are useful in understanding the solute-solvent interactions in binary liquid mixtures on par with other thermodynamic functions.
