摘要

This letter presents the calculation of the minimum dc-link capacitance in power factor correction single-phase systems employing hysteretic current-mode control for low total harmonic distortion. The proposed design can be applied to the cascade connection of converters in which the source converter can be modeled as a loss-free resistor and the load converter can be characterized as a constant power load. The value of the minimum capacitance is obtained as a function of voltage and frequency of the mains, maximum power transferred to the load converter, and desired dc-link voltage. The resulting capacitance is ten times smaller than the one obtained by the conventional design. The theoretical predictions are verified by means of simulations and experiments.
