Textile manufacturer Valdese Weavers has partnered with Seaqual Initiative to fight plastic pollution by transforming marine litter into beautiful textiles. Valdese Weavers, a designer and manufacturer of decorative textiles for use in residential and contract markets, is taking OEKO-TEX® certified upcycled yarn made from the cleaned and processed marine plastics collected by Seaqual and weaving it into fabrics at its facility in Burke County, N.C. According to a press release from Valdese Weavers, residential and contract-grade fabrics are available as well as performance options.
