Earlier in the year IFJ reported on the UK Civil Aviation's plans to conduct tests on the performance of ICAO level A/B and (proposed) level C firefighting foam produced by compressed air foam systems (CAFS). A test specification was being drafted and support and feedback from industry was sought by the CAA during a seminar in February 2011. According to Aerodrome Standards Officer (Civil Aviation Authority) Simon Webb, a test specification and programme have been developed and testing locations have been identified and costed proposals received.
