This book is a sequel to Lent's (1995) edited volume A Different Road Taken: Profiles in Critical Communication. The earlier volume contains interviews with and commentaries on leading figures in critical communication research in the 1990s such as Dallas Smythe, Goerge Gerbner, Herbert Schiller and Kaarle Nordenstreng. The sequel, co-edited by Lent and Amazeen, continues the effort two decades ago in providing "a guidepost to those wishing to understand the difficulties facing critical researchers and how others have been able to navigate through the challenges" (backcover).
