In his latest book, Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide, Henry Jenkins, founder of MIT's Comparative Media Studies Program, attempts to outline intersections between 'old' and 'new' media.rnMuch has been written on the topic and often seems to be outdated by the time it is published, arguably because the attempt to frame new developments in media technology of the twenty-first century into the form of a book is always challenging.rnJenkins, aware of this challenge, does not attempt to give a complete description of all the factors and technologies that may have played or will play a role in what he calls 'convergence culture'. Rather, he focuses his analysis on some of the most recent trends in the in-between space between internet users who create, share or collaborate on content in one corner and the media industries with transnational distribution models in the other.
