No matter what type of public library you work in, one thing remains consistent in the 21st century: the importance of community engagement in all areas of library service. Modern public libraries are in many instances the de facto community center for a town, a place where everyone can come together, experience the world, and work cooperatively. Librarians have an often tiring job due to the ever-changing nature of the community, but it's one that we can't neglect.
