摘要

Scopus, Elsevier's citation and abstract database of peer-reviewed literature, has expanded thanks to a partnership with Data Conversion Laboratory (DCL). Elsevier and DCL are working together on the Scopus Cited References Expansion Program, which aims to enrich millions of items in the Scopus database. Wim Meester, Elsevier's head of product management for Scopus, says, "It's one of the biggest projects we've been working on since the launch of Scopus 10 years ago." Originally, the decision was made to go back to 1996 with cited references in articles. "Right now, we thought it was time to reconsider the decision we made at the start and go back further in time with the cited reference information that we have in the Scopus database," he says. "So [this] is the project we've been working on [with] DCL of adding cited references to the content of Scopus between 1996 and 1970."
