If you use the web, whether as a full-time professional or a casual consumer, you depend on web search tools. The web search toolbox, however, has very little in it: Google and not much else. Google maintains a dominant web search market share, hovering around 67%. Bing is in second place at around 18%, Yahoo is third at about 11%, and Ask.com and AOL share the remaining pittance. But if you consider not just Google, but Google-type search engines, there is almost nothing else. Bing, Yahoo, and Ask.com all have similar technologies, which leads to similar results.
