On July 16,1907, The New York Times reported that Danish professor Y.L. Heiberg had discovered an ancient manuscript by Greek mathematician Archimedes. Heiberg actually made the find while studying 12th-century manuscripts at the Convent of the Holy Grave in Istanbul (which Westerners still called Constantinople at the time).
