IFLA, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, attracted about 3,750 people from 120 countries to Singapore for its 79th World Library and Information Congress (WLIC). Despite the heat and humidity, attendees enthusiastically embraced the conference theme of Future Libraries: Infinite Possibilities. The Suntec Singapore conference center is perched atop a shopping center-in true Singaporean fashion-so conference attendees were tempted to take a break from sessions and spend money. Amazingly, apart from heading to the food courts for lunch, few succumbed to such temptation, preferring to listen to speakers and network with colleagues.
