Information is only valuable if end users can search for, find, and use that information to their advantage. That's why Thomson Reuters' new Cortellis for Competitive Intelligence combines the company's collection of pharmaceutical industry data into a single platform designed for its end users: scientists and researchers at pharmaceutical firms. With several in-tegration options and easy searching across Thomson Reuters' Life Sciences content, Cortellis improves Thomson Reuters' offering to the STM community."People want innovation with information. They want more value from the information they're already getting," says Wendy Hamil-ton, senior vice president of product strategy and operations for Life Sciences at Thomson Reuters. Cortellis delivers value through its extensive database, which includes drug pipelines, company profiles, patent information, and licensing deals, which are updated daily. Web tools such as the Microsoft FAST search engine and the TIBCO Spot-fire visual analytics tool are embedded in the interface, and pharma news is delivered through a Twitter feed. Hamilton says that integrated Reuters news updates are planned in the future.
