Many people see academia as a place filled with argumentative faculty members who take forever to get anything done. While there may be some truth to this impression, colleges and universities actually produce massive amounts of information and knowledge, as well as educate people. Are academic libraries handicapped in their march into the future by this slow pace? Where are academic libraries heading, and how will they get there? What issues should academic librarians focus on? Author John M. Budd has many interesting ideas on these topics, which he shares in this new edition of The Changing Academic Library: Operations, Culture, Environments.
