Every enterprise strives to build a loyal customer base, but it's not easy. Ask Tom Cates, president of The Brookeside Group, about the "deadly F word" in business. "It's not what you're thinking," he says. "In business, the F word is 'fine,' as in 'Everything's fine.'" But chances are, even when you hear that everything is fine, you probably have blind spots in your customer relationships, he says.
