It may still be the dead of winter, but there's some surprising growth going on over at Nature Publishing Group. Along with the debut of more new open access (OA) journals, the Macmillan-owned publishing house is continuing with the rollout of its Workbench development environment. And the company is branching out into software development efforts with a technology venture that brings together a handful of commercial partners such as SureChem, Inc.; BioData, Inc.; and Symplectic Ltd.
