Jay Jordan, president and CEO of OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc., announcedrnhis retirement, effective June 2012. Jordan joined OCLC in 1998 as the organization's fourth president and CEO. His tenure was marked by significant growth: The number of libraries grew fromrn30,000 to 72,000-plus; the number of participating institutions outside the U.S. rose from 3,200 in 64 countries to 16,215 in 170 countries; and the WorldCat bibliographic database increased from 38 million records to 240 million-plus. There was no word about his successor at press time.
