摘要

This month, I'm reviewing a different kind of book that isn't aimed at librarians. It isn't a practical how-to handbook either. Rather, it examines selected recent events in the history of paper books from a cultural perspective.rnThe topic will interest many information professionals because we often work with books and deal with the book trade. Events in the book world often impact our work; the impact is greater on those who work in a public or academic library. We may also be personally interested in the world of books. Author Ted Striphas takes us out of our day-to-day interactions with books for a critical look at several trends in the book world.
