A key hearing in the Google Books settlement was postponed after objections from several of the plaintiffs, including The Authors Guild, Inc. and the Associa-rntion of American Publishers, Inc. Nonprofit, nonpartisan group Consumer Watchdog also filed an amicus brief opposing the settlement. Consumer Watchdog objected to the settlement, saying that it involves copyright issues that should be resolved by Congress, not in a closed-door meeting. When the hearing is rescheduled, it will take place before Judge Denny Chin in federal court in New York's Southern District.
