Anne Mintz, a Special Libraries Association (SLA) member for more than 30 years, was named the 2009 winner of the SLA Professional Award. The award acknowledges her extensive work and contributions in three key areas: educating others on the issues of intentional misinformation on the web, writing for the field of information specialists, and teaching SLA members Journalists, and news professionals about information literacy. The award, which is sponsored by Springer, includes a cash award of $1,000 in addition to recognizing the winner's significant achievements.
