Online publishing has advanced a bit since Janice McCallum began her career at Dialog, a Thomson Reuters business, in 1985. As the new managing director of InfoCommerce Group, Inc. and the head of Health Content Advisors (its division focused on healthcare), she also sees that some things haven't changed all that much. While production processes have been digitized completely, producing and marketing the print product still takes top priority at many B2B and software-transaction-memory publishers, she says. "I continue to hear publishers speak of concern about cannibalizing their print revenue if they put content on the web," says McCallum. "I don't think there should be an 'if left in their minds. Rather, the question should be 'how' to create a product mix that uses the appropriate media formats to maximize discovery and readership of their content."
