After several incidents of queasi-ness on long trips in the last decade, your Field Correspondent's skills at calling "shotgun" on road trips have deteriorated. You know that old adage about calling the front passenger seat (aka "shotgun") when racing out to take a ride in the "General Lee" or some other wheeled vehicle (numbers painted on the side optional). It turns out that not only can your skills get rusty, you also can break the "rules" of shotgun as well. And the consequences can be humiliating at the very least. Those rules are detailed at a website called The Official Shotgun Kules, a rather tongue-in-cheek (and surprisingly long) guide to snatching the front passenger seat on voyages to the Quickie Mart.
