Twitter aficionados like the 140-character-maximum brevity of Tweets, which have now become the source of hot news long before the bloggers even begin posting their entries. Since Newstex already licenses Blogs on Demand, president Larry Schwartz sees NewsTwits (a Twitter-based newsfeed) as a natural fit to his Content on Demand company. For NewsTwits, Newstex licenses Tweets from Twitter authors, organizes the brief messages into groups, and then channels the Tweets into a real-time newsfeed for information providers and enterprise customers. NewsTwits made its debut at the SIIA NetGain conference in San Francisco in May during a LiveTwitter event where the Tweets about the sessions and related events were posted during the conference and then reorganized according to the appropriate panel session.
