摘要

After years of reporting on massive digitization projects supported by government funding and giants of the commercial world, I'm covering some projects that aren't doing well or have even closed down. My research for this report takes a tour of digitization projects around the world and finds little cheer in recent news. Some projects have so much invested in them already that there isn't much that can change in the near future. But sustainability in tough times remains the issue. Europeana will launch later this year as planned, but projects in Australia, Canada, and elsewhere are facing big problems.
