Much has been said about the love affair that Web users have with Flickr (www.flickr.com), the photo sharing social site bought by Yahoo! a few years ago. Those amateur photographers (including yours truly) who take digital shots of family gatherings, newborns, dinner get-togethers, and conference sessions now enjoy the freedom of online storage (for a cheap price). They can now socialize with their friends while doing something they love. Flickr is also familiar to any librarian who follows blogs because most of the photos come from the blogger's Flickr account. Flickr is all the rage and will continue to flourish even as social video sites become more popular. There is something about photos that transcends video.
