I'm writing this column on the train to work, with about 20 other commuters in my car. If I stood up now and asked my fellow passengers how they would research a particular subject (for instance, the latest information on Iran's nuclear situation), most people would admit that they would use the Internet. If I then asked them which online tool they would use first to find this topic, most would say Google. Fine. Google is the most popular search engine on the planet, and its market share is growing at every statistical release by third-party research companies focusing on the search engine industry.
