Lecturing has been the mainstream form of teaching in universities since they were first established. So, it is a cause of great concern when students appear to be rejecting it-and they are doing exactly that, in droves. The decline in lecture attendance has become so widespread and so significant, that academic committees in many schools are being formed just to address this one issue.
