摘要

Finite Element Analysis based techniques are available to simulate cutting process and offer several advantages including prediction of tool forces, distribution of stresses and temperatures, estimation of tool wear and residual stresses on machined surfaces, optimization of cutting tool geometry and cutting conditions. However, work material flow stress and friction characteristics at cutting regimes are not always available. This paper presents the current modelling capabilities available in modified DEFORM 3D™ system to simulate 3D metal cutting environment in turning process.%Tehnicile de analiză bazate pe metoda elementelor finite sunt utilizate în simularea proceselor de aşchiere şi oferă o serie de avantaje dintre care amintim estimarea forţelor de aşchiere, estimarea distribuţiei de tensiuni şi temperaturi, estimarea uzurii sculei aşchietoare şi a tensiunilor reziduale de pe suprafeţele prelucrate, optimizarea geometriei sculelor aşchietoare şi a regimului de aşchiere. Totuşi, caracteristicile materialului semifabricatului la diferite regimuri de aşchiere nu sunt pe deplin cunoscute, în această lucrare este prezentată posibilitatea de simulare şi modelare a procesului de aşchiere utilizând software-ul DEFORM 3D.
