Data are presented on the phase relations in the La_2O_3-Sro-Ga_2O_3 system and the effect of B_2O_3 additions on the structure an morphology of (La, Sr)(Ga, Mg)O_3-δ ceramics. The formation of the perovskite phase (La,Sr)GaO_3 is shown to proceed through La_4SrO_7 and La_2SrO_4-δ. The unit-cell of (La, Sr)(Ga, Mg)O_3-δis found to vary linearly with Sr+Mg content. The introduction of boron-containing addi- tions reduces the sintering temperature of the ceramics by up to =200deg.c
