Pulp & paper industry has been a key actor in the biobased industry for centuries. Extremely high level technologies have beenimplemented for decades in the pulp and paper production. Despite the fact that this industry is considered as a conventional wellestablished one, it keeps on developing the process and the products thanks to both incremental improvements and breakthroughtechnologies. They can concern any step of the value chain, from pulp production until final product. The presentation focuseson the added value obtained on pulp, paper and final products via the recent following examples of CTP breakthrough alreadyunder industrial implementation:• Innovative virgin pulp bleaching concept leading to a reduction of bleaching cost and effluent load reaching more than 20%.• Optimization of paper layering structure according to fiber properties.• Reinforcement of mechanical properties via an innovative binding filler-cellulosic additive.VUnique chromatogeny treatment leading to paper hydrophobicity. A special attention is given on the industrializationof the technology.
