The Office of the Secretary of Defense is launching a new cybersecurity research program that will explore "new and novel game-changing ideas" to counter skyrocketing attacks against government computers, according to budget documents.rnThe Pentagon is seeking $10 million in fiscal year 2011 for the new-start program, which aims to develop a better understanding and reduction of the cyber threat, exploit new concepts and ideas in cyberwarfare, establish new analytical methodologies and improve cybersecurity metrics. Details of the plan are included in the myriad of budget justification documents released Feb.
