Punit Renjen has conquered the world since 1987, when he began crunching numbers as a junior accountant at what is now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Renjen, 53, who takes over as Deloitte's global CEO on June 1, will be the first person from emerging markets in the role and the first from India to lead a Big Four professional services firm. But he joins a growing list of compatriots who head top multinationals, among them Deutsche Bank co- CEO Anshu Jain, Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella and PepsiCo CEO IndiraNooyi. Now Deloitte's CEO for the U.S., Renjen succeeds Barry Salzberg, who's taking a post at Columbia Business School.
